Wines of Finess
Michel-Schlumberger, sited on the western hillsides of Dry Creek Valley, has a well-earned reputation for its excellent Bordeaux varieties. We have long believed in blending these varieties for complexity, and our red wines have harnessed the ripe, raw power of the new world with the elegant reins of the old. For example, our merlot has consistently shown well-knit aromatics and richly structured flavors-unusual characteristics for what is known in California as a soft, "entry-level" wine. Likewise our cabernet is prized for its classic claret balance, depth of fruit, and nuance. These are wines of finesse.
We offer wine tasting and a tour of the estate to guests by appointment only at 11:00am or 2:00pm daily. We offer a scenic guided stroll on our beautiful grounds and vineyards, the history of the Estate, a behind-the-scenes look at the running of a hillside wine estate, a comprehensive overview of the sustainable agricultural techniques that we employ to alleviate the use of pesticides, and a walk through our vinification room and cellars. The tour takes about 30 minutes. Following the tour you will be able to taste our all estate grown current releases. The tasting may take place in our French country kitchen, our elegant living room, or our courtyard garden. The basic tour is $10 and tasting is $5 with half of the proceeds benefitting the Healdsburg Education Foundation. Appointment required.
