Mazzocco Winery is located in the Dry Creek Valley of Sonoma County, bordered on the east by the Alexander Valley and the Russian River Valley to the south. The warm hillsides are ideal and noted for producing quality Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc.
Mazzocco Vineyards takes pride in its limited production of handcrafted wines. The winery building is small, producing about 17,000 cases per year. Winemaker, Antoine Favero utilizes his specialized skills and experience to create world-class wines in the league of France's first growths and California's highest quality producers -- expressing the unique varietal and terroir characteristics of each vineyard site. He believes wines are "nurtured" rather than "produced."
"My wines consistently, and continually, score well in the competitions. Needless to say, the breadth of acknowledgments through the years is particularly flattering," says Antoine. "I attribute these resounding results to both the fantastic vineyards I work with and to the attention to detail in my winemaking practices."
The tasting room provides visitors with a spectacular view over the adjacent vineyards of Dry Creek Valley. Mount St. Helena, at the eastern edge of the Napa Valley, can be seen from the new Tasting Room. There is more space for tasting and meeting visitors from all over the world. And the gift shop has been expanded. Visitors can still enjoy the exhilaration of watching the occasional small private plane take off or land at the Healdsburg Municipal Airport.
No matter what the season, there is always a lot of activity at Mazzocco. The winery takes part in many local events throughout the year, most of which are open to the public. And Wine Club members enjoy special fun events and activities, in addition to special offers and discounts on wine.
